Mine is stamped getrag too. And all the write ups from Skilton and Don Avee say that too. (Figure those guys have broken a few.....although it says all their latter stuff ran autos!) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

well, regardless if we can figure out the manual tranny thing, a friend and i got my wife's bronco running, so, the Sportage is going back in the garage for the winter. first thing i'm gonna do is just take 80% apart. then i'm gonna get me a junkyard Tracker tranny, a Toy t-case, the Inchworm adapter and a set of 4.7 gears from Trail Gear. i'm still debating running 2 Toy cases with stock gears though, so i may go that route, but driveline angle is a bit of an issue, too, so, prolly stick with one. besides, the difference in cost is that if i run one, i pay 350 for gears, but i don't have to pay 300 for the extra adapter. if i run 2, i have to pay for the adapter, but not a set of gears, BUT, i still have to buy the second t-case, so i think the dual case idea will cost me around 100 bucks more, plus more fab time, but less install time, since i won't have to swap any gears, etc. so, anyway, i'm still debating, but i got a few weeks to rack my brain before i dig deep and start turning wrenches and draining fluids.

whether you do the adapter or the gears, it will take you pretty much the same amount of time to install... I've added both in my buggy... The sweet thing aboiut the dual cases is the ability to run twin stick in the dual tcase format, so you can run low X2 2wd....

for your gears, talk to Scott at Rock Buggy Supply... Cheapest around... Back in August 2005 I got a set including shipping for $319. You can get your dual tcase adapter from him too! He's a great guy to deal with!!!

Don't forget about having to rework your drive shafts, as everythings going to be different lengths pretty much either way you go.

email me if you need info about the Toy gears or tcase... or if you need pictures.

I believe Ott makes an adapter from Tracker to Toy as well...
