Over the last few day my 92 Trooper has been acting funny.
My gauges have been reading extremely high, tach jumps, etc.

Since I've owned the truck, my speedo has always worked on/off, well after about 5 minutes of running.

Anyhow, today my battery was dead (reading 10.2v). So I recharged it, installed it, and it started right up.

My voltage was reading 17-18.9v.
So I disconnected the pos. terminal and the truck still ran, but the voltage varied from 8 - 26volts. Also, my wipers turned on (while in the OFF position) and the idle became really erratic mimicking the voltage changes.

Would this be the voltage regulator?
Is it attached to the alternator?
Can I just change out the regulator?

Any help would be great,
Thanks,
Jay
