Where's my glow plug light? #828007 08/01/07 02:43 AM

Need a Spot
Now that my truck is running perfectly (after I replaced the glow plugs again after burning them out with the manual button, which is now gone ) I hear my glow plug relay chattering for a minute or so after a warm start. The box on the passenger side wall buzzes a little, then it all stops. Is the box crapping out? By the way, the glow plugs appear to be working fine. The truck starts great cold or warm.

Also, I can find no glow plug indicator on the dash. There is nothing in the spedo cluster, and the little panel built into the lower center of the dash has two lights, but looking at the graphics of them both they appear to be related to the fuel filter. One (the red one) seems to be the water indicator for the fuel filter, but I have no clue what the green one is. If it is supposed to be the GP light, it doesn't light. I have swapped the bulbs and it still doesn't work.

Any guesses? This is a 1985 MightyMax 2WD (US version).

Thanks

Dan

I can't be specific since I know nothing about your truck, but my Pajero 4D56T has no light. Just loud clicks from the relay.

Yeah, that's all I appear to have as well. Sure would be nice if I could find an owners manual for this thing.

Anyway, it sure runs nice now and is fun to drive.

Your best bet is to put one in if it is not just a burnt out bulb on any existing indicator. And it is so so so simple...

Find the glow plug relay. Then find the coil terminal. Attach wire and run to pilot lamp mounted in the cab... Job done...

Planning to do this to the Pajero soon as there is a dash indicator but no bulb behind it..
