Charlie,

I "think" the information is correct on the Diamante/3000GT/Stealth 24v DOHC engines - those have 10:1 CR and identical cams. Of course, the turbo engines have the 8:1 CR pistons, but I "think" the cams may still be the same.

Where I'm confused is the 12v SOHC specs. The information I've seen so far indicates that the 12v SOHC engines in the 300GT/Stealth are the same heads and cams as the Montero/Raider - 8.9 CR. But - as you have said - the Japanese built Diamante 12v SOHC sedan engines appear to have 10:1 CR with longer duration cams..... by my calculations, 262 duration for the Diamante compared to 258 duration on the 8.9 CR engines.... with the longer duration cams opening 3* later/closing 7* later.

I've found nothing to indicate specs on the Australian built Diamante station wagon. It may be the same as the sedan, but if you try a Hollander search, the indication is that the engines are not the same as the sedans..... my question is why? - and what's different?

I may end up going to Augusta Mitsubishi for nothing next week, but this is bugging the heck outta me. Inquiring minds want to know before putting anything into the blower engine bay. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
