After a long conversation with the shop manager, I was told that the only difference he knew between the Diamante SOHC station wagon and sedan engine is the shape of the oil pan. IIRC, the station wagon pan has a squarer shape. That makes no difference for my purpose, since the car oil pans have the sump on the front of the engine - unlike the trucks which have the sump at the rear.... so the Montero pan and oil pickup tube will have to be swapped over anyway. The Diamante block may have to be drilled/tapped to allow for the Montero/Raider oil pickup tube braces.

I did find a slight difference between valve spring specs for the SOHC 12v Diamante compared to the Montero/Raider.... the difference is slight - may not be enough of a difference to matter, but it's easy enough to use the SOHC Diamante heads complete with springs - since there is no other difference except the cams and valve springs.

I also found a head gasket change between the '93/'94 Diamante SOHC model year - don't know what change was made unless an MLS gasket was used.

Oil squirter locations are cast into the 3000GT/Stealth turbo blocks only - so I'll have to do some more looking to see if they can be incorporated into the N/A blocks.

I was late returning, but stopped long enough at the junkyard to buy the Diamante wagon engine - it'll be pulled tomorrow.
