I've been back up here in Tahsis, on the Island of Vancouver, BC, CA., since the first of July. Doing a lot of fishing and prawning. There are tons of logging roads to travel. What tire pressures do most of you run when playing on these roads? Most are in good shape, but have areas with washboard surfaces. IÆm running 28lbs in the front and 32lbs in the rear. This gets a little ruff at time. Tires are Pirelli Scorpion 31 x 10.59. These are great tires; most everyone has had a flat or two but not these. HereÆs a

Do you carry an air compressor? I would caution against going too low if you are without a reinflation means or are far from such items. When I've aired down for haul roads, I've gone to 15 psi with BFG AT's.

I'm just south of you in western Washington State where the gravel road conditions are similar to Vancouver Island. You don't have deep silt or sand, so you shouldn't need low pressures at all. But, you DO have many surprising potholes and rock protrusions in the hard gravel surface.

Your probably running the gravel roads between 20 mph and 50 mph most of the time (not crawling or off-roading), so I suggest reversing your tire pressures to run 32 front and 28 year. A softer tail should help your handling quite a bit.

Russell, I was thinking of just a few pounds as I have no air supply. A CO tank is on the list of things to get, I'm sure you know how that goes.

I bought a yellow heavy duty 12v air pump from Pep Boys about 2 years ago. It's all metal, pretty well constructed and fills tires plenty fast (2-3 minutes from 15 psi to 32). Cost $40 and has paid for itself many times over already. The yellow one has a standard 12v cigarette power plug on it, the also have an even heavier red one that only has battery clamps on the power leads. It's made by Master Flow.

Isn't the red one from Pep Boys the one that was used in a shootout against ARBs compressor? If so, it performed great in the tests. Wish we had a Pep Boys around here.
