Did you at any time pull the distributor?

Then quit messing with it. It's likely not timing related. All your pictures look good. Don't worry about the crank pulley marks, they are irrelevant at this time.
Are you making sure that things like the MAF connector are back in and secure? I think it can go in upside down, or if it's not fully seated the engine won't start.
Is there a crank sensor? If that were disconnected you won't have spark or fuel injector pulse.
BTW, I check for injector pulse using a pair of cheap LEDs. I plug both into the injector harness pointing opposite directions and crank the engine. Simple and extremely cheap.
For the spark, I guess you could have an assistant hold the dizzy end of the coil wire while you crank it
My bet is on the MAF connection though.

I am about to start the final (fingers crossed) assembly, I will definitely check all wiring harness connections.

![[Linked Image]](http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/1142/dscn3429bd1.jpg) That doesn't look right. It should be at the 0* TDC mark on that cover, right? and when you hook up a timing gun.. That's when you will find it the 15 degrees BTDC right? Someone tell me I'm wrong but that's not how my motors look when I put them back together!

The Stealth & 3000 GT sprockets align perfectly. I did a bench comparison when I was assembling mine. I used the Stealth cogs in mine.
Looks to me like he is off a tooth. I would try lifting it a bit & rotating 1 tooth to check.

Things to check: 1. When at TDC, put balancer & plastic cover on... Does it line up to 0 deg or 15 deg? If 15 deg, alignment of belt or slipped balancer pulley... If not, #2 2. When you install dist, are you aligning all marks like you are supposed to? Is it seating all the way down flange to base?Is the adjuster stud in the center of adjustment slot? If not, keep trying... It truly seems to be off 1 tooth. I had this issue till I found the dist alignment procedure. If not, #3
3. Check & recycle all plug connections with di-electric grease. Might be a bit of corrosion in there. If not #4.
4.... Scare the bejesus out of it with a cutting torch... Mine mysteriously ran fine after that ( actually found loose plug).
