I take my CJ winter camping [we have a few months of snow here] so even though the stays are shorter like 1 or 2 nights a lot of gear is required. My CJ is also a 2 seater and to solve the storage problem I built a trailer. It has a pintle hitch, and 35 BFG mud tires with the same bolt pattern as the CJ. It is also quite short, 51 inches and around 4 feet wide between the wheels and the wheels are right at the back for a good departure angle. It is around 4 feet high and is enclosed with a roof rack on the top. With the Sept long weekend coming up I will be adding tubing to the outside of the fenders plus a jerry can rack on one side and a battery box with a solar charger and a small 800 watt generator on the other side. It works great, the axle is a torsion spring system so it is low profile and the trailer pulls great thru ravines, etc. It also allows me to bring a lot of gear. Being enclosed keeps the gear clean and dry and the pintle hitch works great off-road and is barely noticeable on the road. Once the upgrades are done I,ll try to post a picture of it.

Do you have any pictures of the trailer and dimesions. I have a rather long trailer I use with my cj now and would like to alter it somehow.
