At this point, the valve cover is to be removed to take a look-see. There's a half-moon gasket on the front of the head. There's also one on the back of the head, so make sure you don't lose them.

The 22Rx is an interference engine, so hopefully you got lucky and didn't clang the pistons with the valves.

ALSO, if the timing chain shot, there WILL be parts in the oil pan, which will need to come off and cleaned out. A flush will NOT do, as the drain plug boss stands up enough to where there is still about a 1/2" or so of oil still in the pan when you drain it.
