The ignition module (spark Box) is only bout 20 bucks.. I didn't know there was a test for them.
Golly sounds like you started throwing parts at a problem that should have been better diagnosed first.
Make sure all the wiring is correct and check the COIL wire for spark. There are a LOT more sparks there and it is easier to see the spark. Could be a bad coil wire started all your problems.
