My Cj7 85 did the same thing. I blew a fuse did you check them. It was a shorted wire that cause the fuse to blow. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have expeirenced the same problem with an 85.The wiring harness on the fender rubbed through and burned a fuesible link I think by 83 Amc was using a fusible link inline to the coil or ignition box, dont remember which.
