I put a 12,000 lbs milemarker winch on it, installed my headlight washers (Angelo: I see why you need PVC pipe now; thanks! ) installed my turn signal kit, outside temperature sensor, factory fog lights, winch control box, and that's about it. The new frame horns were fabricated out of 3/8" plate with heavy duty spacers and hardened washers in between. I mounted the bumper to the truck with a total of 6 bolts, 3 on each side. engauge/free-spool lever is easily accessible through bull bar opening. I have to say, I really like the way it turned out. I like the idea of having my head light washers back. after not having them for close to 9 months, they are just the coolest thing going on my bumper right now. everyone asks "what are these things?" and when i tell them they want to see them work. its like no one ever saw headlight washers before. enjoy the pics.

Also, does anyone know why there are 4 cables going to the winch motor? I would think there would be only 2, neg and pos and they switch polarity to switch direction. my winch has one ground and 3 cables going from control box to motor. can anyone explain the circuit to me? Also, inside the control box are 2 solenoids, each with 4 power terminals and 2 signal (activation) terminals. there is a small circuit board inside the control box as well as inside the hand held remote control that plugs into the control box. there are 4 wires going from control box to remote (gnd, pwr, data, clk) so the 2 circuit boards can talk to each other. I want to wire up an in cab switch, but don't know how the solenoids work inside the control box and also fear that it may 'fry' the circuit boards if its not compatible with such a setup. I was thinking as a last resort to use the remote cable and circuit board to wire up my in cab switch by taking the 3 leads off the board that go to the in and out buttons on the remote and wiring them directly to my switch utilizing the original circuit boards as intended just without the original buttons on the remote. does anyone have any other ideas? how do the solenoids work and what do the cables do? can I wire it up directly to the soleniods? like i said there are only 2 solenoids in the box, each with 6 leads (4 heavy duty connections and 2 light duty connections most likely used to activate the solenoids)

There are different windings in the motor for forward and reverse. Thats why you have 3 fat cables on the winch motor. 1 ground, and 2 powers.

As far as wiring the soloniods up you basically have a forward, and a reverse one.

The MM setup prob has a switched ground, and has constant 12 volts on the soloniods, so all you have to do is ground the other side of the soloniod, and it will energize.

very simple really.

AND you can put that bumper on a Gen1 Just as easy as it goes on a US Gen 2. My ARB is a Gen2.
