Getting the Wheeling Fever
Well I am new here to the forums and was wondering how many people have built there motors up to get a little more out of them and if anyone has used these cams from LC?
I recently got the full length header and also the EFI pro/street split duration camshaft, well I dont think it is what i want now, to me it doesnt seem to have the power I thought it was going to have, now I am on the street all the time and dont offroad my truck.
Anyone else used this cam and what are your thought about it, i am taking mine out and getting a different one from another company, this one has a 1000 miles on it if anyone is interested in it I'll take 100 bucks for it.

I assume you are talking about a 22re motor. If you are wanting a lot of power save your money. A 22r /re/rte is not going to make a lot of power no matter what cam ,exhaust, dist, intaqke etc...There is no substitute for cubic inches.Just not sure what you mean by more power.I would shop with EB if you do want to stick with a 22r.Just my 2 cent

When you went to teh header, did you also open the rest of teh exhaust to match the 2.25" all the way out?

Oh yea ,I a had a different header before, shorty headman.
I am not trying for huge power, just tryin for more to pull my bike trailer over the rockys, last year the sidekick was in 2nd gear climbing the mtns. haha
So we are going to try the toyota this year. I have got the adjustable cam gear, k-n, long tube header, smaller street tires, maf adjusted a few more teeth, 10.63 comp. ratio, and wideband for tuning it in, lce cam felt like stock, very weak to me, but I have been driving a turbocharged car for 2 month also everything feels slow, I had a stage 2 cam simular to cranes ,was for good cam just needed a little more, I have got stage 3 from crane #700-0014 coming, that is very close to the cruising range I will be in on the hwy.
just need about 120-140 hp hopefully to get that extra edge for pullin a trailer maybe 1500 lbs loaded.
Has anybody wanted a little more simular to my situation?
thanks for the replies. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I found a bored out throttle body made a decent difference up in the mountains. I have the LC +3mm unit and I found it added about 2000'-3000' of elevation range to my 22RE. Before I noticed the power falling off above 4000', after it was in the 6000'-7000' range.

That is interesting about the tb's, I haven't considered getting a bigger one, I am not sure if I need that with were i live and what I am doing on a daily bases, but I have just recieved my Crane cam and will try and show you some pictures of the lobe differences, how do post pictures anyway, they are 2 different cams all together now but I didn't like the split duration cam at all just no power were it was supposed to be.
I will have this motor in and going by the weekend and will let you know about the difference in power I have got.
