It seems silly that I can swap a totally different front axle in my truck in a month, and it takes me a year to research out some simple shocks.
No wonder you don't like fender flares!

I guess it is really the mentality that I CAN do just about anything. I mentally prepare for things like motor swaps, and SAS, and big projects, and make sure all the research is done beforehand. With something like ordering shocks, all you really have to do is take some simple measurements, and order them. Should take like 15-20 mins total time.
Just one of those things I guess.

Ok here are the front shocks. As you can see they are way bigger then the original Rancho 9000's. Old shocks ![[Linked Image]](http://pics.montypics.com/dc/2005-08-20/1124585862_bumps.jpg) NEW Shocks ![[Linked Image]](http://pics.montypics.com/dc/2007-08-13/1187047296_dsc00856.jpg) Small Gap between half shaft and shock body. As I stated before we went through a full extention with it and full lock left to right and the gap didn't change. Now once the bushings wear in who knows. But I think it will be alright. also you will notice the shock body is longer. I took out the spacer for the shocks that allowed the original shocks to run with the lift. It's a longer shock that goes all the way to the top.

Well, IMHO, those CV angles are pretty substantial. If they cut loose in the joint, that little gap may get taken up by the slop upon failure. Is shock mount relocation out of the question?
Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

No.. This is extreme angle. This is before we figured out how to drop the front diff. I did alot of write ups about the whole ordeal and how it made the rubicon trip a very interesting one. ![[Linked Image]](http://pics.montypics.com/dc/2005-07-28/1122577711_dsc00943.jpg) After the diff drop
