If you cant get there in a jeep you probably dont need to get there

4 or five p0ounds should be enough. What does acting up mean?

If you have a fuel filter replace it! Dying upon "dumping can mean the little fuel enrichment pump inside the carb is malfunctioning.. However dying after 15 minutes may be other than fuel! It could be a coil or a dist pickup or a spark box (if any).
Does it jump around when dying or simply quit? If it just quits I'd be looking at the spark system.

ive replaced everything but the starter and alt. in the electrical system and rebuilt the carb but i think i was getting too much pressure thru it so i might have messed up the settings in it so i might rebuild it again, oh i replaced everything but the cables and i checked the coil wire and its fine

Two things... How are you adjusting the fuel pressure?
AND zackly WHAT parts did you replace? EVERYTHING does not mean the same to EVERYONE!

ive replaced the coil, distributor, fuel pump (electric now), fuel regulator, starter selenoid, battery cables, spark plugs, spark box, and ive rebuilt the carb once but then i added the fuel pump and forgot the regulator so im pretty sure i pumped too much pressure into it so im pretty sure the carbs gone, ive found a carter 550cfm for cheap that im thinking of putting on it

DD Are you still working on that thing? I have installed many common lectric fuel pumps on vehicles for one reason or another.. I ahve never found it necessary to add a regulator.
Ok so you have done all that stuff to the engine and it still does the same thing? Has nothing helped?
Why not give us a play by play.. Mostly when was the carb rebuilt? Before the problems of as a result of the problems?
Simply throwing parts at a problem is NOT the answer.. First thing is to do a good job of troubleshooting to find out zackly what part is misbehaving.. Then only one part changed out will solve a problem.

well changing one part was the idea but everytime i thought i had it figured out i replaced the problem or so i thought it would run good for a little while and then it would start doing it again, when it first started acting up the first thihng i did was put in the new coil and spark plugs it ran good for about 2 days, then i replaced the battery cables ran good for about a day, then the distributor ran good about 2 days, then the fuel pump good for about 2 days, then rebuilt the carb that helped for about 2 days too, the time it works is why it confuses me, either way i was wanting to do a total tuneup on this thing, replacing a bunch of the parts and get it ready for some off roading

You describe an intermittent problem of the engine dying while in use...I think. These problems, over the years, have been the condenser in the dist, the coil, the coil or plug wires and lately the pickup in the dist and mostly the spark box itself..
Them places is where I'd be looking.. Over pressuring the carb should not hurt the carb. All that I have had happen is the pressure opened the needle from it's seat and flooded the engine.. Which doesn't seem to be your problem.
You are finding that one needs to troubleshoot and find the problem before replacing parts..
