Removing upper rod bushing

Hi guys, is there an easy way to remove my rod bushings without the sst? Or maybe I should've had the machine shop do that... I was just going to use a punch the size of the bushing and hammer it out, but its pretty tight and I don't want to damage the rod. Thanks,
