Im trying to decide whether to replace Tires, brake rotors and brake pads, plus replace valve cover gaskets. or just sell my truck and focus on finding something newer.
Silver Paint is 95 out of 100,...a few stone pecks on the hood and a few door dings. Interior also about a 90-95 out of a 100. no rips, tears or dash cracks....a few carpet stains. Needs valve cover gaskets, Brake rotors (warped) Brake pads, and new tires. A/C is Ice Cold. Transmission shifts flawlessly. 4X4 works as new and and has never really been used. Exhaust sound. Upholstery is the brown cloth in near perfect condition. Factory CD player and sound system is actually pretty good. Factory 15" aluminum wheels. Just turned 200,000 miles last week.
Has new water pump, front seal, idler bearing, tensioner, crank pulley and timing belt about 5,000 miles ago.
What is it worth if I sell as is? If I spend the money to fix everything mentioned.........whats it worth then?

Is it worth it to YOU? I put much more than that into my '92 over the last few years, but I absolutely love my truck. Had it for 14 years, and plan on another 14 if I get my way. We have '95LS with 145k on it, and I'd fix it in a heartbeat. Built better and more reliable than anything I could replace it with for the same amount of money.

In cali I see 95 SR's going for as low as 4,500 so I'd say you'd be lucky to get 5K out of it.
Montero's are good for buyers as they are a great deal and a lot of 4x4 for your money. Bad for sellers because the general public doesnt know much or could care less about them.

I bought my 96 LS with 140,000 miles for $4,000 What it looked like when I bought it. Nice and clean, everything worked , no dings and scratches, and serviced regularly. ![[Linked Image]](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h194/cmontymonty/IMG_3707.jpg)

Guys it's 11 year old truck. I wouldn't pay more than 2500-3000k for it. (of course I paid only just a bit over 3k for my 8 year old 92 SR little over 7 years ago). So hmmm... neah I wouldn't pay even 2.5k for 11 year old LS with 200k either. Try this. Edmunds usually give you realistic figures. Of course one may get lucky. http://www.edmunds.com/used/1996/mitsubishi/montero/12478/options.html

Montero's are good for buyers as they are a great deal...because the general public doesnt know much or could care less about them. *Find* Montero *Replace* Mitsubishi I doubt I will ever own any but Mitsu. They are bargains and I know (or am learning) how to work on them. BTW, I got my 95 MT three years ago now with 106k for $5k.

200k miles in need of new brakes, tires and valve cover gaskets?
I'd say the value is about $2000.
