I have a 05' wrangler TJ 6speed and I'm planning on installing a 2 1/2 or 3in suspension lift. My big question is.. Can a kit be installed with regular hand tools? I've never done any suspension work before and I don't have a garage, just jack stands and a decent tool kit.

what kind of special tools might I need? and how long should this typically take to install a standard lift? this is my daily driver and I'm hoping I could knock it out all in one weekend.

Also, any reccomendations on lift kits? like I said, I'm newbie to suspension work and any info would be greatly appreciated! I would like to keep everything below $1000. and is there any special considerations I need with the 6 speed tranny?

Thanks alot!
Nick

Air tools do make the job alot easier Kal, but it can be done with hand tools. If you've never done that type of work I would suggest recruiting a buddy who has to help out.
You'll need a good set of hand tools including a 1/2 inch socket set minimum. The rest of what you need (puller set, front end service kit) you should be able to rent from your local autoparts store.
