Would there not be something in the VIN to denote soft top/jtop?

I dont think it is factory. It has the US turn signals and tail lights. I dont think the factory top had the snaps all around it. All of the factory pics I have show the top extending all the way to the windshield, no metal between the front and back. The plastic rear window is slightly different than in the factory pics I have. It does not have a side marker or badges on it. However, there was a green color like that, that we did not get here. I tried to call the number, no answer, so I emailed them.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

I'm pretty sure the leading edge of the rear cover for the real ones is like on other similar setups. IOW, it's a like a lip on the metal and then a hard plastic piece hooks all around it. Take a look at a Tracker or Amigo.

I don't think the snaps on that leading edge would keep rain water out at highway speed.

We have the JTop in Puerto Rico and they wear the US spec lights.

I spent 3 weeks, this last summer, back home but due to problems and complications caused by my accident in the Montero days before the trip I couldn't travel locally and move around as much as I wanted so I didn't have the changce to either look for the guy that I know that has one.

This trip to the island was a long waited one but I had so many problems and misshapens that I need another trip.
