Yep- I missed Galax Fiddle competition and Fiddle Fest here in town. Then that really sucks is Ralph Stanley played Fiddlefest, and I didn't know till too late. Since we are on the topic of Ralph, here's some of his finest. O Death (a capella) Man of Constant Sorrow Starts at 1:58. Pretty Polly

Hey Rich. My Grandpa was the Asst. Vice President of Wabash Railroad. My mom was just telling me they used to ride in car #1 with all the big wigs. They had prime rib dinners served with crystal and silver. My mom is here for my daughters birthday and when I brought up that you knew about Wabash she lit up with excitement and started sharing some stories with us. My mom was raised in Tennessee. Dixie Lee Foster until she married my dad and became a Montgomery. We have some southern roots that still surface now and again. Did I mention my wifes name is Virginia.

Nice - 'cept for Martin ..... whoever was playing slide guitar was mighty good.
Frank I wouldn't pee up Martin's butt if his guts were on fire...but, he's a better banjo player than actor/comedian. The slide guitar is a Dobro. Vince Gill can play the snot out of a guitar...and Albert Lee ain't bad either. That's one of my favorite bluegrass tunes. When I lived back in Nashville I used to go down to the Smithville fiddle festival. True American music So, what's wrong with Steve Martin? He's one of my favorite entertainers. Extremely talented, sings, dances (tap) and plays the banjo... Plus he makes millions as an actor. Has he done or said something for you guys to hate him? Maybe I shoudl hate him too?

Has he done or said something for you guys to hate him? I don't hate him - just my opinion of his musical talent. But, to his credit - he's way better on banjo than Bill Clinton on tenor saxophone. Frank

Hey Rich. My Grandpa was the Asst. Vice President of Wabash Railroad.... That awesome. Our predecessor, Norfolk & Western, aquired the Wabash from Pennsylvania company sometime back in 1970, traded some of our common stock for total ownership. We actually kept running trains under the mark WAB until the early 1990s. Ha- speaking of Dixie, I was singing that this morning while taping up some trim so my wife could paint. She was taking nap, and I got to the 'I wish I was in Dixie part', and she yelled: YOu are damnit! I'm trying to nap!
