Getting the Wheeling Fever

I removed the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator again to replace it with new hose. It was dried out and starting to crack.
The engine was warm when I removed the hose from the vacuum fitting and the hose was kinda wet inside from gas.
Would this be a normal condition?
