Danica it is possible,
I put a 93 AT motor in my MT 97 wrangler and ran into the same problem, the hole in the end of the crankshaft is much to big for the pilot bearing. You have to go to the dealer ( <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> ) and order a sleeve that gets pressed (I used a socket and a hammer to install mine) into the end of the crank, the sleeve then holds the pilot bearing. The sleeve comes with the pilot bearing already installed. I believe it was a $20 part. Your website doesn't have it. You should be able to see the sleeve and pilot bearing in the crank of your original motor, unfortunetly it cannot be removed without destroying it.
