I've noticed a few folks here had an ABS light that won't go off, yet no resolution was ever posted about what the culprit turned out to be.

I've got one. It started about 2 months ago. I poked around here in The Wire, and saw the post about possible cause was corroded terminals, clamps, etc in on battery, so I replaced those. Nothing.

Put new brakes on the truck this weekend, since it needed it. Light still on.

Driving to work today, had the chance to go ahead and try to lock 'em up (slightly wet pavement from rain) and sure enough, ABS never kicked in.

So, having DL'ed the FSM, I see where it says to use the SST or a jumper wire.

Question #1:
I assume this is like in the GM's where you could jump the ecu data cable port with a paper clip and read the check engine light codes, right? Will the ScanGuageII do the same thing? PERFECT justification with the wife to dump $160 on something NOT for her

Question #2
Is anyone who posted the problems still around? If so, please let me know what happened!

Question #3
Is this something I could fix, or what? Keep in mind that I am an automotive IDIOT!
