My wife and I went online and found a couple of sites that offered direction to replace the timing belt. It seems somewhat simple to do. "Thanks"!

have u checked the belt? u said that when u 'short' the fuel pump relay it works, have u checked the connnections on the relay to make sure they are not corroded its a common fault.

ok then well if it cranks over and has compression it wont be the timing belt, it will just free spin noise if its stuffed.

Hi Axeman,
I've replaced my timing belt, spark plugs, fuel pump and both relays. The truck started and ran for 45 minutes or so. I drove it around the block and that's were it died. I think I'm not getting fuel, I'm suppose to change the fuel filter tomorrow evening, but I do not recall hearing the fuel pump running this time,I've check the grounding unit but not sure if I checked correctly or was in the right area. I did sand off the paint on the lid that covers the fuel tank & pump and then replaced the screws. Should I have changed the screws since they were kind of rusty and not getting a good ground, curious, any sugestions?

When I took the truck for test drive the only thing it did was just shut off, so I coast it to the side and pushed it back home with my Blazer. I'm going to retrace my steps as for checking the fuel system and relay connections. I'll keep you posted.

did you check the belt to see if it broke again ? if so did you replace the tensioner's at the same time the belt was replaced ?
