We use 'em for the moose up here. Seem to work okay.

Friend of mine drove Outside to see her new grandson; installed a couple of them on her rig. During one of her stops, she said she watched a black bear that was foraging along the road lift his head, look around, then bolted off in the brush, so I reckon the critters hear them.
