Well , I'm done , no real biggy

Went down to my local toyota parts dept. and picked up a 14mm thread plug for a Tundra. Cut new threads in the pan and cleaned out the debris with a small rare earth magnet. It's back to normal , with a 14mm head on the bolt instead of the 7/8 " afterbirth -rubber plugged affair the shop had stuffed in there. Lesson well learned ...

I got this thing about having all bolts factory size. With a 10 , 12 &14 mm wrench , a phillips and a standard screw driver I can do most maintenance. Keeps it simple

One thing I'd like to mention, I didn't spend much time looking for alternatives once I made up my mind how best (for me) to take care of the problem. I did go to the local NAPA and they had a tray of all common plug sizes plus most of them in single oversize and double oversize.

Every oversize except for the 12 x 1.25mm that I needed of course. Kind of odd. That one may exist but they didn't have it
