Need a Spot

i know this should be in jeep tech but i thought i would post it here for more help...
my 99 tj's (no a/c) blower motor is not working and i am wondering if anyone could give me some possible culprits and easy ways to home diagnose problem part.

it was working good up until a few months ago when the 3rd speed setting would not blow because the other speeds were fine.i did not get too worked up until it started cutting out for hours/days at a time when on the highest fan setting for just over a few minutes. then a few weeks ago i got in and the blower did not work at all and has not worked since. nothing but the fuses behind the glove box have been checked since then.

thanks

Mike this seems to be a common problem with those model jeeps. Almost always the problem is solved by installing a new resistor. The resistor is (I think) behind the glove compartment. You may find more info by searching here.
I have never had this problem but I read about it here quite often.

Body Damage is Cool
Boy, you disappointed me! I looked at the title of the thread, and I figured someone had a TJ with a supercharger in it!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

BJ is right -- it's most likely that your blower speed resistor is toast. Replacing it should fix your problems. However, I would also hceck the blower fuse -- sometimes, when the last segment of the resister blows out, it takes the fuse with it. But usually, it's just the resistor. Jeeps been doing that since the CJ's were made.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
If the resistors are bad doesn't the high speed work? Thought high was full power bypassing the resistors.
