I think it is exactly what John said. It clicks only once when I turn the ignition and I talked to a couple other people and they said that it's the contacts on the starter. So it looks like I will be crossing my fingers to get to the weekend and pull the starter. I know the contacts are cheap and a starter is not so cheap but do you think that while i'm at it I should go ahead and replace the whole starter? The truck is 10 years old with 124k on it and starters don't last forever.
Thanks again for the help.

You'll be fine. Changed my contacts out at 140K on a 1999 last year, with no issues.

Well I'm trying to take out the starter and it's not going so well. I'm going by the tutorial on here and it's kind of close to the way mine is except you can't get to the bolts at all from the wheel well because the headers are in the way and there isn't a bolt facing the front of the truck only two facing the back.
So as of now I have the negative cable to the starter off and that is it. I've put some penetrating oil on the bolts in hopes that something will come loose.
Well, anyway back out to try things again.

Sorry for the slow response.
To answer your question: no I couldn't get one bolt off. I have to remove a bracket behind the bolt to actually be able to remove the bolt itself. I haven't had time to work on it again since this past weekend and hopefully will get a chance at it this upcoming weekend.
Everyone says that the bolts should be facing opposite directions yet mine definitely are not which I find strange because there is no way to get the bolt on or off without first removing a bracket. So I'm a little confused at that part.
Good news is since I tried to take it out it hasn't clicked once. It just starts right up(knock on wood). Kind of strange I think.
Anyway I'll try and keep everyone posted when things start coming out.
