No body lift. It's a suspension lift. As for the bigger tires.. it came stock with 4.32 r&p with 30" tires. I'm running only 33"s and never overheated with the stock r&p's. I'm running 4.90's now. What I think is the trq converters slipping too much which is adding to the heating.
Been too busy today to check the thermostat. I did buy a new one. it's 180. they had a 170 for special order but i think the 180 should work. Heck I might buy the other to try. they are only 13 bucks.

I wonder how well the hood vents work with rain or water?

I haven't had any issues with the louvers so far and it's been raining here fairly steady. They do suggest not installing them directly over the alternator or other concentrations of trons.

I dont think the hood vents would be the solution you are looking for. You've got some other real issues here to check off the list first, then if you want a "little" more cooling solutions, go for the hood vents. And I dont think your 33's are putting any kind of strain on anything. With those 4.90s, you shouldnt be having any issues with being under-geared.
You want to check anything and everything that has to do with cooling. Also check with your tranny, any "check engine" lights come on yet? If you think your tranny is acting up, either its time to take it apart and change things out before your burns up and sticks, then its time for a rebuild of some sort. When in doubt, just start from scratch, drain your coolant, put new thermosate in, check water pump, change rad cap, change tranny fluid (and tranny itself) and etc... Good luck, Angelo

Agreed with all that angelo said with the Exception of "change the tranny itself" is the AT temp light comming on as well in my experience the AT temp light will come on if its a tranny issue (slipping), but I could be mistaken but start with the basic easy stuff first. Tstat, fan clutch, ETC..are you still running the original water pump? The fins on the impeller can disintegrate if you had corrossion in the cooling system at any point in the past. Also when the work was done, did you get a Mitsu radiator or after market..just some random thoughts...Oh make sure your shroud was put back on the new Rad too.. Hope you get it worked out...maybe we can hit up Big Bear soon.

Agreed. I'm not saying to get louvers as a "band-aid" solution. As the others said, you should locate your issue and resolve that. I'm just suggesting louvers as some additional umph to a properly working system.
Do you have anything blocking the the front of your radiator, such as a custom bumper with large expanses of steel or a winch? If so, this could be disrupting the airflow to your radiator.
EDIT: Also, do you have custom skids up front or below which could be allowing less airflow?

Now I cant remember what I wanted to put there orginally.
