Getting the Wheeling Fever

So here is where I'm at now. I have been fooling around with the fuesable link housing and the alternator wire that connects to the battery. When I do this I have intermittently gotten power. I then go and turn the key to start it and its as though what ever is receiving the current in the loop is tripping like a reset button trips. Can anyone tell me where the starter relay is and could it that be it?
