Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
Hi there everyone...I am so happy, I got to take the Monte out on Argentine Pass here in CO over the weekend and do some wheeling!
I did have one gripe that was pretty annoying...the bang from these steps laying down on some of the rocks lol!!
Is there anything special I need to consider when I take these SOB's off? I am thinking of just leaving them off for now...
Thanks!

You can probably use the MontyMcV method...just hang your truck off a biga$$ rock and peel them off.
They should just be bolted on...they are on the GenIIs.

Thanks guys, I was concerned I would miss something. I'll be sure to watch out before they fall on my head!
Do I need to cover the holes that it is bolted up to, in case of rust or anything to that extent?

Do I need to cover the holes that it is bolted up to, in case of rust or anything to that extent? No 'cause they sit on threaded studs under the body. You will just need to remove the nuts. The threaded stubs will stay on the truck so no holes to fill

Of course, once you remove the steps, you've got NOTHING between your rocker panels and granite.

That gives him the ability to do what the other Gen3 guys are doing and developing rock sliders for it. I gotta say, this is really cool seeing Gen3 guys proving the Gen3 isn't a car with big tires.

Mine are still on the LWB, just a little mangled. For those without sliders, we call the steps "buffer zones."
