On the dsmisc "how to order" page, there are two ISC's shown that appear to me to be the same ISC. One is labelled "ISC, Mitsu 4G63 2.0L (DSM 1G/2G)", and the other is labelled "ISC, ALL Dodge Stealth/ ALL Mitsu 3000 GT".

The third ISC appears to be for the 3.5L engine.

Can anyone confirm if these two ISC's are in fact the same? If not, which one has been ordered by those of you with 6G72 engines?

And yes, I've sent dsmisc an e-mail asking for confirmation, but have not received a reply, so I thought I'd ask for info from someone who has actually purchased one.

Thanks!

Eric W.

I dont know.

Someone mentioned rebuilding them by using coils from a car version in the Montero housing and plunger. I am going to look for these parts.... someday.

It is confusing. I dont think they are interchangable, but I cant say for sure.

I saw a company that rebuilds these, but price was almost as high as the new ones.

Need a Spot

I just received and installed the (E9T15271C 7412C) and it appears to be the wrong one for my 90 3.0L. When idling the speed goes down to 0rpms and the engine dies. Once the ISC is unplugged it works fine.

I purchased the ISC, All Dodge Stealth/All Mitsu 3000GT ($131.75). Waiting for email response back from DSMISC.

Thanks for the info, Andre. I got an e-mail from dsmisc.com yesterday asking for clarification as to whether my isc looked exactly like the one in the pictures because the info they had for my '89 Raider indicated a different isc. It looks like the same one to me, so I took some pictures and e-mailed them to dsmisc.com and am waiting to hear back from them.

The engine dies because somebody set the base idle screw closed because the isc was making the idle too high. The isc was working all right...

Thanks, Eddy. I'm still in the e-mail stage with dsmisc.com. We've determined that the isc on my Raider is the old-style Mitsubishi; not the one that dsmisc's info indicated for the Raider. I then asked the question about which of the two apparently identical isc's on their page I should order. I haven't heard back yet today from him, but based on your info, and diagnosis of Andre's idle issue I'll probably go ahead and order the "ISC, ALL Dodge Stealth/ ALL Mitsu 3000 GT" version if I don't hear back from him today.

To re-cap and close this off: I suspect my ISC is dying due to the following conditions... A)Slightly low idle B) no idle-up when I switch the A/C on, instead idle drops ~100 rpm C) slight hesitation/drop in RPM when I open the throttle. I am unsure of the correct ISC on the dsmisc.com web page, and have an e-mail dialog with them, ultimately taking pictures of my current ISC for them to look at...

OK, here's the canonical answer. After looking at the pictures I e-mailed, the reply from dsmisc.com was that the first ISC shown on the How To Order page (labelled "ISC, Mitsu 4G63 2.0L (DSM 1G/2G)" is the correct application for my 1989 Dodge Raider 3.0L. FastEddy said he had ordered the 2nd one shown on the page, so I suspect they are the same part. Anyways... I ordered an ISC and O-ring last Monday, and received them yesterday (they were shipped on Saturday).

I installed the new ISC at lunch today with no problems. I needed to go through the "idle for 2-3 minutes. Switch off, restart, idle 2-3 minutes... lather, rinse, repeat" cycle specified by the FSM to bring the idle down from an initial point of ~1200 RPM. There is NO hesitation any more on opening the throttle. The idle is rock-solid, and idle-up occurs correctly when the A/C is switched on. Yay for A/C Looking at my old ISC, the pintle is very loose, and can be rotated probably 10 degrees back and forth.

So I can give a qualified to dsmisc.com. The only downside was "Doggo" (the owner) seems to be spending a significant part of his week traveling for business, and as such, his e-mail response was somewhat delayed (the website advertises typically same-day reponse, somethimes within the hour...). Never-the-less, he delivered what his website advertises -- genuine Mitsubishi OEM ISC/IAC parts at a decent price. If you're experiencing any problems with your Gen1 ISC, give him some business
