I'm planning on using the Ford Ranger flywheel, Ford Ranger clutch and release bearing on the '87 Mitsubishi Montero 5 speed manual truck when I put the 4D55T in. From what I can tell, it looks like it will all fit and I can use the HD starter from the Ford Ranger diesel as well. I'm also using the stock montero motor mounts and swapping the motor mount brackets from the 2.6 engine to my 4D55 block. It looks like that will fit as well.

This was my plan as well, but I found that the 2.6 motor mounts would not fit the 4d55 block ( bolt holes don't line up) I am waiting on a pair of Ranger diesel body side mounts to see if I can use them.

As for the clutch and flywheel setup, it will probably work in your case. But the clutch in my truck is cable actuated (vs the hydraulic in the Monteros) and the Ranger setup is about a half to 3/4 inches deeper than the stock setup. I am checking to see what the stock Mitsubishi diesel setup in the Pickups was, since I know that will always work.

I'll post pictures of everything when I get access to better internet, right now I'm stealing my neighbor's super slow wireless connection and can't get on to PhotoBucket.
