The Gates company timing belt guide indicates the Tacoma 3.4L engine is an interference type. Most of my research indicates the engine is a non-interference engine. A wrong assumption regarding this could be a very expensive proposition. Has anyone had the belt snap while driving their Tacoma? Did it do any damage to the pistons and/or valves? Or did it just require setting the proper timing alignment and replacement the the belt?

Thanks Very Much In Advance
Ron
