The truck currently has 33x12.50 on aftermarket steel rims, and with no body or suspension lift, it rubs when I cut it all the way in a turn. I've always liked the pizza cutter look, and I'm curious if you can get 33x10.50s on the stock aluminum rims.

IIRC the stock alloy rims for a gen I are either 6 or 7". If 7" then you should be ok as that's the minimum rim width for a 10.5 tire (per BFG's website).
I know Phil used to run pizza cutters. He may still have them. I don't remember what he was running when he had his last gen I.

The five and six hole steel wheels and the 10 hole alloys for the Gen I are 15x6. With 32x11.5's, I encountered rubbing in the front inner fender wells and some on the bumper ends. At full fles, the rear tire would just kiss the frame. With a taller, narrower tire I would still expect slight clearance issues on the front (steering box on left, sway bar on right) and inner wheel well contact in the rear when flexed. With my 33x12.5's on a slight ramp: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.geocities.com/rxinhed/Flexed33s.JPG) When in an actual loaded flex condition, tools aboard and crossing haul roads, I observed a little contact on the outer lip of the rear wheel wells and additional self clearancing of the front bumper ends. Hope this helps.

The five and six hole steel wheels and the 10 hole alloys for the Gen I are 15x6. If that's the case, they'll be considered too narrow by most reputable places to mount 33x10.5's since the minimum rim width is 7" for that tire. Now, that's not saying you won't find a place who would mount them.

Yeah, at the whim of the tire guy. My buddy Chris, owner of the local Big-O reluctantly mounted the 32's on the stock rims. The combo looked good on the truck but was a little squirrelly (spelling ) on the mountain roads around Tahoe. I really have liked the 31's on 8 inch rims and the 33's pictured on 8's (front) and 10's (rear) with 4" BS.

If I am not mistaken the LS Alloy rims are a little wider than the Gen 1 Steelies. I think its 15x6 vs 15x6.5 or so. As far as having 31x10.5's on stock rims I have had no issues with tire places on that. I have only had issues with them saying the LS Rims aren't made for my truck...was a major PITA...

I think the gen1 aluminums are 6in just like the steels. I had 32x11.5 on stock 15x6 rims. Worked great. I have 31x10.5 on stock 6in rims right now. I know there is a pic of a black shiny gen1 with 33s on stock rims. I will look for it later. There is also a post of gen1s pics with different tire combos.
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.
