My question is, how many times should I have to crank the engine without the plugs in it to get oil pressure? Re: 22R Rebuild, need help!!! I've run it through several starter cycled and still am not getting any oil pressure. I've pulled the oil filter off and there is no oil in it. This is a brand new oil pump and completely rebuilt engine. Do you think I just need to keep trying? Or do I have to pull this thing out again? Re: 22R Rebuild, need help!!! I would remove the oil pump, pack it with grease or vaseline, install the plugs and start her up. It will build pressure in seconds if it is going to. I ended up pulling the oil pump back off and packed it with grease.
