Agreed, there were allot of hard and nasty battles but this one was a moral victory for us and a moral loss for them.
We did have major losses but being able to repair our ships quickly and replace the aircraft was a strong suit for us as their resources were running thin, noticeably so after Midway.
And yes, Yamamoto was a brilliant leader. He aperantly knew from Pearl Harbor that they were going to be the under dog and he fought a hard war.
