Logansportage,
Stock rear TJ springs in the will give you 4 inches of lift in the back. One of my Upyourkia spacer kits with your front Eibach's will give you 4 inches in the front. I would like Dave's kit also but with him not makeing them it would be harder and more expensive to put one together. You know how well my Kia wheels even without rear limmited slip. If you want more lift there no cheaper way. I have just shy of 100,000 miles on my lift with no safty issues.

this may sound like a stupid question, but i want to make sure before i go buy some.

if a stock tj coil = 4" sporty lift
a 2" tj lift coil should = 6" sporty lift or close to? etc...

i may have just figured out my new rear springs if this is the case. other question is how is the stiffness of the tj coils compared to that of the 4" rocksport coils?

same question i guess in regards to the areostar coils, do i use fronts or rears? and how much lift/ ride quailty?

thanks

You already bought the RSG LIFT & RB Body KIT...Right?

They have already established that the rear may seat as high as 7"----- <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> (And find your shocks) etc.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

Your front is as high as you can go---as well as finding struts to fit! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

Hot rod look comes to mind and a lot of intrinsic adaptations......and what not.

I am not sure what is a 2" tj coil lift though?

I would say just lift the body an inch more or 2. See what that does.

I am working on a 2" lift with Everet as we speak <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

a 2" lift on a tj is exactly that, in a tj it would be a 2" lift over the stock coil. so what i am asking, and assuming to be correct is that a stock tj coil is 4" of lift in the sportage, so a 2" lift coil for a tj would be 6" in the sportage.
just want to be sure. if the sporty is lighter in the back than a tj, then the lift coil might actually give more lift in the sporty than it would in a tj.

and I already have the fix for the front end, so i am not worried about the "hot rod" look.

The rear of the Sportage is lighter than a TJ. I compared the compression of my Kia and a friends TJ and his springs were compressed about an inch and a half more than on my Kia. If you get a set of 2" TJ lift springs they could lift your Kia as high as 8 inches or more because most lift springs have a higher spring rate. Mine also has a very stiff ride but I think it is more the shocks than the springs because it was just as stiff with the Eibachs and spacer lift in back. If you get more than 4 inches lift on your front springs you will run into all sorts of problems including not being able to use 4 wheel drive because your CV axless will be hitting your strut forks. When I"m ready for more than a 4" lift it will be with a SAS.

i am thinking i can live with 8" total suspension lift.
and as said, i have the front end taken care of! the cv angles wont be an issue.

the TJ and Sportage weigh close to the same, but the difference is the TJ's weight distribution is almost 50/50, where the Sportage is something closer to 60% front, 40% rear, and that's with the seats in and rear tire on the carrier, without all that it's closer to 70% front, 30% rear, and with the hatch door off? scary-light...

My Eibach rear springs have also sagged a lot and this is why I'm probably going to replace them with the stock TJ coils.

I was going to add a spacer, but looking at the springs they really need to be replaced instead of just adding a spacer.

I just wish Eibach would warranty them.

With as much crap as I carry in the back I'm hoping the TJ coils will sag soon to a level I'm happy with. Or I'll have to get a set of Dennis's lift.

Speaking of that Dennis, PM me.
