Hi everyone! It's been quite some time (about a year) since I last posted and I never was really one to post to much anyways (yankneck you might remember me, I came by the salvage yard one time!) Well, long story short.....I decided to go back into the army and finish my career in the military so where do I get stationed at? Okinawa, Japan of course! Well, I have to tell you, I do miss my Raider but my Dad is taking great care of her for me while I'm gone. I do remember a post a while back about where you've seen the most Raiders/Monteros/Pajeros at one time and I think I have you all beat! They are everywhere out here! I'll try and get some pictures of some of the finer specimens around here if I can get the time and opportunity. But all these Pajeros got me thinking. Since parts are hard to come by back in the states, I'm thinking about checking out the salavage yards to scab off some parts so I can have a collection of spares for when I come back to the states. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for? I have a little over 2 years left here so I have time to hunt and peck through everything. I have learned that "new" parts are expensive but I don't know about used parts just yet. (Although I'm quite sure they won't carry the premium new stuff does over here.) Also, if there is something that any of you guys back in the states are in need of, I'd be willing to track things down, shipping from our post office here on base shouldn't be too expensive, just slow! .

If you can find 'em, I'm sure some folks might want a PTO and shafts. Also, 4.88 or 5.29 diff gears might be available in junkyard rigs there.
I don't want anything that I can think of at the moment, but if I think of something, I'll let you know.

I'd already thought about getting some badges and so forth. I'll be sure to stock up to help supply everyone! And I think a license plate can be arranged. The Japanese have this weird thing where the plate stays with the car regardless of how many hands the vehicle passes through but I've seen some in the junk yards!
Oh yeah, I don't have to worry about putting parts in a suitcase. Good ol' uncle same pays to ship my stuff back when I leave here!

I'd LOVE to have that fuel can rack that some of the JDM Pajero's had...would put it on my '92. If you see one of those, let me know. Maybe karma will work for me, since I sent some VW, BMW & Porsche parts home when I was stationed in Germany.

I would expect the corner and tail lights should sell well. Spare tire covers, Hard and soft style? From what I have learned many salvage vehicles get shipped to Malaysia where space is not such a premium. Now can you ship a dozen 4M41 Diesels? Gen 2 manual gearboxes? The gearsets as mentioned previously.

Oh yea, figure out a way to get some 4m40 or 4m41 (with ecu and harnesses) diesels back here and you'll have lots of new friends (Howdy friend! ). I'd even go for an late model 4d56 with intercooler!
