that will get you about 5 inches of lift without the lift blocks, you can do the same to the rear
then you probably wanna throw some big tires on it, after which you will probably need some gears to turn them
then the short drivetrain will want a cv type driveshaft
then axle wrap issues
then the amc 20 with the weak axle tubes and two piece driveshafts will probably complain
the front will probably be ok up to 33-34 inch tires
but yes it can be done....

flip the front axle over

In what part of the world do people say "flip an axle over" instead of Spring Over Axle SOA?

Nobody would try an flip and axle over? (except for rear engine moon buggies and nutty rigs on "junkyard wars"?)

Doing an SOA then adding lift blocks seems about a wrong as you can get. Lift blocks are dealwithable on a rear axle, and NEVER done on a front axle EVER.

When moving the springs to the top of the axle, you must also move the spring perches. You cannot not SIMPLY flip the axle over. Not to mention on a front axle it would put the diff on the wrong side of the vehicle too.

Lets just say for a moment that one "could" take a standard low pinion dana 44 (for example) and flip it over...would you suddenly have a "high pinion 44" NOT NOT NOT.

With axle upside down, the gears would go the wrong way. So in first gear (no rear driveshaft) the rig would move backwards. No kidding. If you tried this and did not turn the inner knuckles around the ball joints would work there way out. Great plan.

Have axles been "flipped" and work correctly? Well, yeah.
Rear engine moon buggies have to, because the engine is facing rearward, therefor the in order to go forward the axles have to be upsidedown.
