Getting the Wheeling Fever
.....a YJ with SOA and 4"lift springs? I currently have 4" softride and I'm ready to upgrade to an 8.8 in the rear, so I figure its a good time to do the SOA. I know it'll be big, but just wondering if anyone here is set up close to that, pro's cons, and what size tire your running. I'm thinking of only running 35's.

Body Damage is Cool
With a SOA and 4" springs, you'd have a total lift of about 9-1/2 inches. I wouldn't want to be in a YJ with that much lift. What size tires you plan to run, and what axles would you be running?

1977 CJ-7, fiberglass body, AMC 360 w/ headers, DUI ignition, Edelbrock intake and Holley 4150 carb, TF999, Dana 300, 4.56 gears lockers, York air comp, 4" susp lift, 2" body lift, BFG 35" M-T tires, Megashifter, AGR pump & box, REP8000 winch.

8.8 rear and D30 front (might swap the front for a 44 when I SOA, havent decided yet), plan on running 35's or 37's.

I'd run 39's. With those 4 inch springs and a 1 inch BL, you could run 35's with only a little rubbing.

But, as Bob said that much lift is not very stable. You can easily clear 35's with just the SOA. If you are set on going SOA then I would sell your lift springs for some new OEMs. Or just keep the springs, get a BL, and don't go SOA.

People who get 9+ inches of lift usually drive fullsize trucks with 44+ inch tires for mudding, and have big blocks, or at least V8's.

Oh yeah, you will need to upgrade your front axle shafts if you are going to run 37's on that D30.
