I would try Napa, Autozone, or whatever parts house other than the Steelership for the steering gearbox seal.

Sounds like Your throttle positioning sensor "TPS" might be failing? It could be something as simple as a corroded connection. Might try unplugging all the connecters you can get to and apply some electrical grease.

Why go around? When You can go over!
