Need a Spot
Hi folks
I have two problems 1 the seal in the steering box output shaft is leaking and kia do not have replacement they tell me the box has to be replaced kinda expensive for a $5.00 part also having idle problem when stopping or changing gears the engine stays around 2000 to 2500rpm when i come to a stop you have to wait 15 to 20 sec for it to drop down to proper idle, also when driving at regular speeds when you take your foot off the accelerator the engine drops with a jerk almost like it is going to stall NOW I am getting a new fuel tank installed next tuesday as the old one is leaking badly and will not hold any pressure could this be some or all of the problems
Thanks
Poppy

I would try Napa, Autozone, or whatever parts house other than the Steelership for the steering gearbox seal.

Sounds like Your throttle positioning sensor "TPS" might be failing? It could be something as simple as a corroded connection. Might try unplugging all the connecters you can get to and apply some electrical grease.

Why go around? When You can go over!

Body Damage is Cool
Pull the codes. Sometimes there is a code still in the ECU that has not been cleared but the CEL light is not turning on because it is an old code.

Autozone will pull the codes for you for free and they will even tell you what they are. If you ask real nice they will even clear them for you so "you can check to see if what you just did at home fixed the problem."

Mine is still leaking (trace residual) Aproximate 1ml/cc per month.

Checked the price for the new box and it sits around $375.00 American dollars <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />

I searched before and even made a post in the past----but to no success.

I will stay with my " very small" leak. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
