They advertise the kit as being 4-5" but the lift itself is 4". The extra -1" comes from them advising you to do a tbar crank. It borders on false advertising...



I disagree with you on this. There are two things about the SL kit that are very different from other kits out there. First, the rear drop bracket is a 4.5" drop. Second, the bumpstop drops are 3.5" instead of 4". These allo increased suspension travel.

I installed one on a 94 4Runner that had 25mm Downey torsion bars. The torsion adjusters were not long enough to drop the front end to the 4" mark. The truck was at almost 6" when first installed. I pulled the torsion bars and re-indexed the front to drop the front end.

The only two things that I did different was to install a set of Rockstomper 1/4" balljoint spacers to prevent balljoint bind and pull the torsion bars; I don't like working on the front end when there is stress on the upper a-arms. At the end, I had a level-sitting 4Runner that had 4" of lift front and rear. It was a little soft up front, though.
