oversized valves,port match header a 261 duration cam with an adjustable cam gear. boost your compression and run the arp studs as mentioned. set your quench tight to about .007" run a heavy flywheel. msd ignition box. run a wideband o2 sensor to a wideband air fuel gauge so you can tune on it easier..those dual carbs are a ***** to tune from what ive heard, i dont know first hand though.

261 cam? nah gotta disagree, remember since he's got sidedrafts and exhaust and such, he's gonna want high RPM power... not low RPM torque (need the power where the parts shine)... a 270 cam or something even wilder for sure... but he may have a cam already...
