Need a Spot
Hi all,

new boy here...

I would like to lift both front and rear of my 98 sporty about 2". In simple terms ('cos I'm a simple soul) how do I do it? Where can I source the parts? Will I need to do any cutting or shutting? I intend to keep stock rims but up the rubber to 225/75/15's. I have a basic but good garage and some basic mechanical aptitude and I live in Queensland.

HELP!?

mate putting springs in is easy if know what ur doing the rear should take about 10 min the front is a bit harder u gotta pull the strut out and stuff but not too hard. im getting some ironman springs for my sporty in a few wks adskia has ironman springs also but a big lift. i have 235's on standard alloy rims with king springs but they r sagging so im getting new springs. where in qld r u?

Thanks mate,

I'm on the gold coast at southport (no, not surfers!)
Found some good places like opposite lock and pedders(?) that seem to have all the kit but I was after some REEEEEEal basic advice first. I've herad talk of spacers on the front struts 'cos there aren't many front spring setups available etc etc..

o ok well im in brisbane atm but moving to ormeau in a few wks i put them springs in my self they arent very hard. i bought my springs from ebay just some king springs. what type of advice r u after though? how to install and stuff like that. there r a few places that make 2inch lift for the sportage without the need for spacers unless u want higher...

also if u wanted coil spacers let me know cos i want to get some from dennis (upyourkia)but he needs a few orders before he will make a set.

WIERD!!

We are also moving to ormeau in early december.. gotta be careful what I put - the boss is looking over my shoulder and wondering what I'm up to now!!

Nah, a 2" lift would be good enough - nothing too hairy but enough to go and play with. If I can get away with just adding springs (and presumably shocks to suit) I'd be a happy man. Any idea where I can source those?

haha thats funny! well i will be getting ironman springs for mine, u can get away with standard shockies i believe with a 2in lift, but i want coil spacers and long travel shocks. i have got some 225/75 15's goodyear wrangler GSA tyres that i had on mine with lots of tread for sale if ur interested.

Thanks for offer but I already got some maxis zeroed in. So standard shocks and just longer ironman springs will do? That makes it easier and probably a damn sight cheaper too. Appreciated
