Sorry to hear that. Like the Madman said, get to wroking on the truck to take you mind off of things.

The hub swap is very easy. Be careful on those sutpid allen head bolts.

Take cover off of auto hub. Take c clip off of CV shaft. Unbolt the allen bolts and pull off flange thing. Put new one on. Put c clip back on. Put hub on. I highly suggest you put some anti seize on the stupid little allen screws. Do not put too tight. They are very easy to strip. I dislike allen stuff.

If you can swap your axle, you can do the hubs without looking. Well you get the idea.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Thanks Sparky!
Figured it would be apparent once I got them off, just wasn't positive. I've had the auto hubs off before, and I did strip one of the Allen bolts, so, I'm going to be especially careful with them this time.

The gen2 uses regular bolts instead of allen. When and if I ever get some Aisin hubs (they have regular bolts holding on the cover), I plan to swap to regular bolts.

Regarding the perpetual oil leak....

Turns out it was, in fact, the crank seal. It was pissin like mad. When I pulled it out, the inner lip had folded back on itself and the spring had come off. So, I followed the recommendations of some, and packed the back side of the seal with grease.

It felt funny sliding it on the first time, so I pulled it back out. Sure enough, the seal flipped and the spring came off. Got another seal, packed it and turned it while sliding it on. Went on good. Went ahead and replaced the cam seals and timing belt while I was there. The belt was oil soaked and the cam seals were weaping.

Replaced the motor mounts, as well. Man o man was that a bear. My arms look like I used a cactus for a punching bag. My arms are not small-japanese-man sized. And, it seems to me that every stinkin thing on this truck is over-engineered to some degree. Too many bolts holding everything on, IMO.

Also replaced the fan clutch, O2 sensor, ISC, and the coil. Something I found interesting, the O2 sensor was a Bosch off my shelf, but an NGK in the box, and the ISC and coil were both NAPA parts, but Mitsu parts in the box. Cool.

Anywho, all I have left is the plumbing/wiring for the locker, trim the bumpstops, reset the idle, adjust the timing, trim the front bumper end caps, clean and readjust the shifter and put the stereo in. Again, not necessarily in that order.
