No, when you open the rear door (the one with the tire on it), on a second generation Trooper, it blocks the tail lamp assembly when viewed from behind.
And no, on 2nd generation Troopers, the jack and
tools are located inside a little compartment in the cargo
area on the left hand side. The 1st generation Trooper
had the jack and tools under the seat and the jack handle
and extension under the hood.
