Hey, Buddy! That was funny! Cut back on the morning coffee! Honestly, I bet a lot of times in threads like this, the guys do exactly what you've suspected; casting aside the advice from professionals and experienced fourwheelers on our board, like yourself. We normally never find out! Some may even have taken the board members advice.
Obviously, it's a big step to most Jeep owners to rip-out the Dana 35 axle that works well enough, to install a tougher axle for some taller and wider tires under their beloved Jeep to meet the challenges offroad. Too many spend way too much money attempting to spend less by throwing hard earned dollars on strengthening the Dana 35 and/or installing lockers and super alloy axleshafts and gears in it. In hindsight, I know what I should have done way back then. But, I don't regret the experiences. Incrementalism (paying more than double to achieve a greater degree of offroad capability for your rig) will keep the 4x4 shops open for many years!
