Will some one with a 1999 Rodeo 3.2L take a photo of the vacuum switching valve at the brear drivers side of the engine. The one directly behind the fuel pressure regulator.
It is mounted on a bracket one the air plenum and has two vacuum lines to it, as well as teh electrical connector. Mine broke several months ago and I had to temp fix it by hooking three lines together with a "T" fitting to eliminate the vacuum leak. I now have the new valve but for the life of me I cant get the hoses in the right spot. Should have marked them with tape.....

Do you really know what that vacuum switching valve is for .......like what circuit is it?

I know what it is and how it works ....It opens and closes to turn on and off the vacuum for something... Its the something that I was also trying to figure out. I know I found it broke after i had the whole intake manifold and air plenum apart for thermostat replacement. I was troubleshooting the cause for such ***** gas mileage on my drive back from Utah right after teh maintenance.

Any one know what it it is for ?

If I'm not mistaken this actuator works a linkage on the back of the manifold that turns two shafts running lengthways through the manifold. Each shaft has three butterfly valves on it that close off one of two inlet runners to each cylinder. I believe it opens around 3000 rpm. Gives higher air velocity into the cylinder at low rpm.
